I couldn't resist but to take on the challenge of interpretation. XD
The surreal world of this image is very interesting. 
The girls have the moon in their possession, with a light that is projecting from another dimension of the sun. The apartment reflects the state of the moon, as though the environment seems uninhabitable. But like the moon, they are quite used to it. A key by a red thread, is connected to the drawer by the overflowing sink which had been left on. It can be seen outside of the window, seeking to connect with other branches. Their shoes are left in odd places, as though they had been traveling for key ingredients to cook up something that would actually work. The two girls are like a parallel to one another. With no electricity available, the moon in the hands of the girl would suffice. The chords wrapped about their feet and the fish in the oven, seem to imply they have been fishing for something. They sought for a connection to the world. Or they sought to connect to a person whom they can entrust with the key to the most intimate place. The ongoing of the running water could be like a passage of time, that seems never ending. The entrance of their home is open, but blocked, and the two girls are actually facing as though they were expecting someone to enter from the most unlikely place, perhaps through a window. The two girls could very well be one and the same person. Split apart, as alter egos, with a parallel of dimensional planes on their dress, as though they had been fishing in different worlds. Like the water, and the fish, it is a different world beneath the surface.
They seem to portray themselves as being very crafty and creative. In their poverty, they tend to improvise in a manner which seems crazy, but crazy enough that it would actually work. Even the use of their feet as a rods to reel something in was something that seemed to have crossed their minds. Overall, this pic most likely shares the inner world of a lateral mind. Meaning resolving problems indirectly and creatively. It's how I resolve most of my life issues, which is why I can probably relate to this pic. LOL
Well this was fun. XD I knew there was something about this pic that caught my attention and I had to write out my thought process to interpret what it could mean to me personally. Of course interpretations varies from person to person based on individual perspective. Even so, I may have actually figured it out. Well maybe. XD
